PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — A woman who allegedly carried out a solo armed robbery at the Philippine Red Cross office in Barangay Dao, Pagadian City was arrested by authorities on Friday morning, January 10, 2026.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Nadine” and described as of legal age, was apprehended shortly after the incident through the swift response of law enforcement operatives.

Police said the suspect entered the Red Cross office armed with a caliber .45 pistol and threatened the personnel on duty before attempting to flee the scene. However, responding authorities immediately launched a pursuit operation, leading to her arrest.

Recovered from the suspect were a .45 caliber handgun with two magazines and several assorted gadgets, believed to be connected to the robbery attempt.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect failed to escape with any significant amount of cash as the incident was quickly contained.

An investigation is now underway to determine the suspect’s motive and possible involvement in other criminal activities. She is expected to face charges for robbery and illegal possession of firearms.

No injuries were reported among Red Cross personnel during the incident.

Police assured the public that security measures are being strengthened and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
