KITAOTAO, Bukidnon — A 49-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death by an unidentified assailant while walking home on Wednesday night, December 17, 2025, in a dark stretch of Purok 3, Barangay Kimolong, authorities said.

The victim, identified by police as alias Julio, also known as Boboy, was a resident of the area. Initial police reports revealed that the attack occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. as the victim was heading home on foot. Upon reaching a poorly lit portion of the road, he was suddenly assaulted and stabbed multiple times by an unknown suspect.

Responding personnel from the Kitaotao Municipal Police Station’s Mobile Patrol Unit found the victim lying motionless at the scene, bearing multiple stab wounds on various parts of his body. He was rushed to the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in Kibawe, Bukidnon, but was declared dead on arrival by attending medical personnel.

Investigators believe the suspect fled immediately after the attack and remains at large. The motive behind the killing has yet to be established.

Police have secured the crime scene and launched a full investigation to identify and apprehend the suspect. Authorities are also appealing to residents who may have witnessed the incident or noticed suspicious activity in the area to come forward and assist in the investigation.

The killing has alarmed the local community, particularly due to the incident occurring in a residential area and under the cover of darkness. Local police assured the public that intensified patrols and investigative efforts are underway to ensure justice for the victim and to prevent similar incidents.
