TUPI, South Cotabato — Authorities arrested a 28-year-old man identified only as “Arman” after he allegedly stole 45 pieces of fresh pineapples from Field 503 Charlie in Barangay Linan, late Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the incident was reported around 4:15 p.m. by a security guard from Exodus Security Agency, who noticed the suspect taking the fruits without authorization. Responding officers immediately proceeded to the area to verify the report and apprehend the suspect.

Recovered from Arman was a red Skygo motorcycle, which police believe was used in transporting the stolen produce. The vehicle has been taken into custody as evidence.

The suspect is now detained while authorities prepare to file theft charges against him before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Polomolok.

Police reminded the public to respect the livelihood of farmers and agribusiness workers, stressing that agricultural theft remains a punishable offense under the law.
