COTABATO CITY — A former policewoman who went absent without official leave (AWOL) was arrested by authorities after serving a warrant of arrest against her along Rajah Tabunaway Boulevard, Poblacion 5, around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 25.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Parriza,” 29, is a former member of the Philippine National Police previously assigned to the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (RDEU-BAR) and a resident of Rosary Heights 5 in this city.
Police Captain Earll Jeffrey Lopez led the operation with support from elements of the 1401st A RMC, 1404th RMFB14-A, City Intelligence Unit (CIU-CCPO), Police Station 1, CMFC-CCPO, and the Regional Intelligence Unit of the Police Regional Office–BAR.
The arrest stemmed from a warrant issued on December 17, 2025, by the Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 14 in Cotabato City for the crime of Malversation under Article 217 of the Revised Penal Code. The case is docketed under Criminal Case No. 2025-17086.
The court has recommended bail amounting to ₱120,000 for the suspect’s provisional liberty.
Authorities confirmed that the former policewoman is currently detained at the Cotabato City Police Station 1 pending proper documentation, while the served warrant will be returned to the issuing court for subsequent legal proceedings.
Police have yet to release further details regarding the alleged malversation case as the investigation and judicial process continue.
