LANAO DEL NORTE — A joint law enforcement team arrested two alleged drug suspects and seized more than ₱130,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Purok 1, Barangay San Juan, Baroy, on Wednesday morning, November 20, 2025.
The operation was launched at around 10:27 a.m. by a composite team from the Baroy Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit LDN PIT, 1005th RMFB, PNP LDN MARPSTA, and PDEA–10 MisOcc Provincial Office, in coordination with PDEA–10. The sting was conducted under PDEA Pre-Op No. 11-00-11202025-002.
Arrested were alias “Jong2x,” 46, jobless, and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay San Juan; and alias “Emily,” 42, married, and a resident of Barangay Palaran, Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur. Authorities said Emily was caught visiting the drug den at the time of the operation.
The arrest was triggered after the poseur-buyer successfully bought one sachet of suspected shabu from the primary suspect, prompting operatives to immediately surround and detain the duo.
Recovered from the suspects were one large plastic sachet of suspected shabu, two medium sachets, and ten small sachets, along with a marked ₱500 bill. Several drug paraphernalia were also confiscated—including aluminum foil, a glass pipe (tooter), two cutters, forceps, plastic cellophane, a small tub, and three containers: a black wallet, a camouflage sling bag, and a black briefcase. Two unsealed sachets with shabu residue were also collected.
Authorities estimate the total seized items, weighing around 20 grams, to have a combined street value of ₱136,000.
Charges for violations of Sections 5, 7, 11, and 12 under Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now being prepared against the suspects. They remain detained at the Baroy Municipal Police Station pending formal filing of cases.
The confiscated evidence has been turned over to the Lanao del Norte Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.
PCOL Leo De Leon Sua, Acting Provincial Director of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office, praised the operatives for their swift and coordinated action.
“This successful operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the LDN PPO in the fight against illegal drugs,” he said. “We will continue to intensify our operations and work closely with the community to root out this menace. We urge everyone to stay vigilant and support our campaign against illegal drugs.”
Authorities reaffirmed that more anti-drug operations are underway as part of ongoing efforts to secure communities across the province.
