Polomolok, South Cotabato — A retired member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pagalungan, Polomolok, on Tuesday afternoon, authorities reported.
The 55-year-old suspect, identified only as “Allan,” was caught with two sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately five grams, with an estimated street value of over ₱34,000. Police also recovered the marked money used in the operation.
The arrest, conducted by the Polomolok Municipal Police Station around 5:00 p.m., highlights the continued involvement of former military personnel in illegal drug activities, police noted.
“Allan, a retired AFP personnel, is now in police custody and is facing charges under R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” said a police spokesperson.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to pursue all individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, regardless of background or previous service.
