Mati City, Davao Oriental — A top-ranking high-value individual (HVI) in the regional drug trade, known by the alias “Bata,” was apprehended in a successful joint anti-illegal drugs operation on November 16, 2025.

The operation was led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 11 under PCPT Damiano Albacite, with support from PDEA 11 DOPO, intelligence operatives, and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Mati CPS. The raid, conducted at Barangay Central, Mati City, was carried out under the supervision of PLTCOL Frederick C. Sa-ao, Acting City Police Officer of Mati CPS, with guidance from PCOL Ritchie S. Bucol, Provincial Director of DOPPO.

Authorities recovered approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱408,000.00, from the suspect.

“This arrest underscores our unwavering commitment to dismantle drug syndicates and keep our communities safe,” said police officials. “The Mati City Police, together with partner agencies, will continue to pursue illegal drug activities relentlessly to ensure a drug-free, safe, and orderly environment for our citizens.”

The operation is part of an ongoing crackdown targeting high-value individuals at the regional level, signaling intensified efforts against illegal drugs across Davao Oriental.
