ZAMBOANGA CITY — A shooting incident turned fatal on Saturday night after a foreign national was gunned down inside his SUV near the boundary arch of Barangay Lumbangan in Barangay Divisoria.
Initial investigation revealed that an unidentified assailant approached and fired at the victim while he was seated inside his vehicle. The gunman fled swiftly after the attack, leaving the victim fatally wounded.
Authorities identified the victim through recovered documents as Abdalrahman Elshawadfy Mohammed Elfaky, 46, an Egyptian national residing in Matina Aplaya, Davao City.
Police investigators are now pursuing leads to establish the motive behind the killing and to determine the identity of the gunman. They are also reviewing possible CCTV footage in the area and calling on witnesses to come forward to aid the investigation.
Authorities have assured the public that a manhunt operation is underway as they work to bring the perpetrator to justice.
