DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao del Norte — Authorities have arrested Alamin Ganoy, an incumbent Municipal Councilor of Datu Salibo, Maguindanao del Sur, who was listed as one of the most wanted persons in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for double murder.

The arrest took place at around 2:00 p.m. on October 11, 2025, during a joint operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Maguindanao Provincial Field Unit, in coordination with the Highway Patrol Group (HPG), Aviation Security Group, Special Action Force (SAF), territorial police units, and other law enforcement agencies. The operation was carried out along Airport Road, Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.

Ganoy, 44, was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for two counts of murder issued by the Shariff Aguak Court, Maguindanao, on October 11, 2023. No bail was recommended. He is ranked No. 7 in the Regional Most Wanted Persons list in BARMM.

Investigations revealed that on August 16, 2023, Ganoy and 21 other suspects allegedly carried out a bomb explosion that targeted a group of barangay officials led by Hon. Jun “Datumanot” Silongan, Barangay Captain of Pendeten, Datu Salibo, Maguindanao del Sur, in Sitio Patawali, Barangay Ganta, Sharif Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao del Sur.

The explosion instantly killed Barangay Captain Jun Silongan and Barangay Kagawad Salik Katua, and injured eight other individuals. Kagawad Katua later died from his wounds.

Marcos of CIDG Maguindanao, and all joint operating teams for capturing the accused,” said PMGEN Robert AA Morico II. “With his arrest, we have helped the victims and their families move closer to the justice they deserve. The CIDG remains relentless in pursuing fugitives across the country.”

Ganoy is now under the custody of CIDG Maguindanao Provincial Field Unit for proper disposition and court proceedings, while authorities continue to track down his 21 co-accused who remain at large.
