CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) intensified its anti-drug campaign with the arrest of three drug personalities and the seizure of an estimated ₱1,530,000 worth of suspected shabu in separate operations across Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental on October 25, 2025.
The first operation was conducted around 6:33 a.m. in Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City, where operatives from Police Station 2 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) implemented a search warrant against a taxi driver identified as alias “Chardy,” 48. Confiscated from the suspect were four medium and fifteen small sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 15 grams, with a street value of ₱102,000, along with assorted drug paraphernalia.
Later that morning, at 8:05 a.m., police operatives from the El Salvador City Police Station served another search warrant against alias “Lily,” 52, a High-Value Individual (HVI), at her residence in Barangay Molugan, El Salvador City. The raid resulted in the recovery of three large sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 60 grams and valued at ₱408,000, as well as various drug paraphernalia.
Initial reports revealed that “Lily” allegedly supplies illegal drugs in her barangay, with sources pointing to her live-in partner—recently released from jail—as the supplier. Police said this was her first recorded offense.
In a separate late-night operation at 11:24 p.m. in Zone 8, Poblacion, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, authorities carried out a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of another High-Value Individual, alias “Kulitang,” 32, a resident of Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental. Seized during the operation were eight small and two large sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 150 grams with an estimated value of ₱1,020,000, along with a ₱500 marked bill and a sunglasses container used to conceal the drugs.
Police records indicate that “Kulitang” had previously been arrested for the same offense but was granted a plea bargain. He reportedly resumed illegal drug activities as a source of income.
All three suspects are now detained and face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PBGEN Christopher N. Abrahano, Acting Regional Director of PRO10, commended the successful operations and reaffirmed the regional police’s commitment to eradicating illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao.
“These accomplishments reflect our steadfast commitment to ensure that illegal drugs have no place in Northern Mindanao. We will not stop pursuing individuals who continue to destroy the lives of our people and the future of our youth,” Abrahano said.
The recent series of arrests underscores PRO10’s strengthened campaign against illegal drugs and its continuing efforts to ensure safer and drug-free communities in the region.
