CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — More than Php700,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated and two high-value individuals (HVIs) were arrested in a series of anti-drug operations led by the Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City from April 16 to 17, 2025.
In Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, a joint buy-bust operation on April 16 conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU-MORPPO) and Jasaan Municipal Police Station resulted in the arrest of a suspect identified only as “Rejay,” a 44-year-old factory worker listed among the Top 10 PNP Regional Priority Targets. The operation, which took place in Zone 2, Bobontugan, Jasaan, led to the confiscation of six sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 3 grams with an estimated street value of Php20,400, along with marked money used in the buy-bust.
Meanwhile, on April 17, operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit (CIU), carried out another successful buy-bust in San Lazaro, Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City. This resulted in the arrest of another high-value target, known as “Mak-mak,” a 41-year-old resident of the area. Authorities seized around 100 grams of suspected shabu valued at Php680,000, an Android phone, and the marked buy-bust money.
In total, approximately 103 grams of suspected shabu were recovered from the two operations, with a combined estimated value exceeding Php700,000.
The arrested suspects are now under police custody and will be facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PBGEN Jaysen De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO-10, lauded the operating units for their dedication and success.
“Police Regional Office 10 remains steadfast in its fight against illegal drugs, committed to dismantling syndicates and neutralizing high-value targets. We will intensify operations to ensure safer, drug-free communities. Together, we can secure a better future,” De Guzman said.
These back-to-back operations underscore PRO-10’s continuous campaign against illegal drugs, with a strong focus on apprehending high-profile suspects who pose serious threats to community safety.
