ASUNCION, Davao del Norte — Governor Raul Mabanglo has expressed strong support for the Restorative Justice Program (RJP) initiated by the 60th Infantry (Mediator) Battalion of the Philippine Army, which seeks to promote reconciliation and healing among families of fallen soldiers and former New People’s Army (NPA) members.
The program, held on October 8 at the battalion headquarters in Barangay Doña Andrea, aims to “restore relationships” and foster understanding between families once divided by conflict.
Representing the governor during the event, Executive Assistant Kristine Anne Mabanglo conveyed the provincial government’s commitment to peacebuilding efforts led by the military. Governor Mabanglo also extended his support through the provision of 400 packed lunches for participants and attendees of the activity.
“The provincial government recognizes the importance of forgiveness, dialogue, and unity in achieving lasting peace,” Mabanglo said through his representative.
The Restorative Justice Program is part of the ongoing peace initiatives of the 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, designed to help rebuild trust and promote healing in communities once affected by armed conflict.
With the provincial government’s continuing partnership with the military, stakeholders hope to strengthen peace advocacy and create more inclusive programs that empower conflict-affected families and communities.
