PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — Cries for justice now echo from the family of a 46-year-old mother who was found dead with multiple stab wounds late Wednesday night, October 23, in Purok 3, Sitio Ditawan, Barangay Lourdes, Pagadian City.
The victim was identified as Emelyn Diana Camaso, a resident of the area and mother of one. According to initial reports, Camaso left their home early Wednesday morning to collect rubber for livelihood while her child attended school. However, she failed to return home by evening.
Her lifeless body was discovered around 9 p.m. with numerous stab wounds across her body, suggesting a violent attack. Authorities from the Pagadian City Police Station have since launched a thorough investigation to determine the motive and identify the perpetrator.
Investigators initially suspect that the killing may have stemmed from a personal grudge, but they are not ruling out other possible angles as the probe continues.
The tragic death of Emelyn has left the community in shock, with neighbors and relatives mourning the loss of a hardworking mother known for her quiet and diligent nature.
Her remains will be laid to rest on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Sitio Ditawan, Barangay Lourdes.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious individuals or activity in the area on the night of the crime to come forward and assist in the investigation.
