Butuan City, October 1, 2025 — The Police Regional Office (PRO)-13 successfully accounted for 55 loose firearms and arrested four suspects during a five-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) across Caraga Region from September 26 to 30.
Police Brigadier General Marcial Mariano P. Magistrado IV, PRO-13 director, reported that the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) led the operation with 15 loose firearms recovered. Surigao del Norte PPO followed with 13, while Surigao del Sur PPO accounted for 10. The Agusan del Norte and Dinagat Islands PPOs each tallied four firearms, while the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13 recovered seven, and the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) turned in two.
Of the total, three loose firearms were seized during the implementation of search warrants, one was recovered during a police response, and 51 were voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
Magistrado lauded the efforts of law enforcers, stressing that the recovery of loose firearms is a vital step in preventing criminal activities in the region.
“I commend the relentless drive of our PNP personnel who have taken these loose firearms off our streets. These actions prevent lawless individuals from using such weapons in crimes and other illegal activities,” he said.
The SACLEO is part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign to maintain peace and security in the region by targeting illegal firearms and other lawless elements.
