SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao del Norte — Police recovered 14 boxes of alleged abandoned smuggled cigarettes worth around ₱518,000 along the Diversion Road in Barangay Dalumangcob, Sultan Kudarat, on the evening of October 17, 2025.
According to a report, the recovery took place at around 9:55 PM after local authorities received information from a concerned citizen regarding suspicious boxes left along the roadside. Responding immediately, operatives from the Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station (MPS) launched an inspection that led to the confiscation of the items.
The successful operation was attributed to intensified checkpoint activities and increased police visibility in the area. PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of Police Regional Office – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR), lauded the efforts of the Sultan Kudarat MPS and the cooperation of the public.
He reaffirmed PRO BAR’s commitment to sustaining anti-smuggling and anti-criminality campaigns, emphasizing their goal of preserving peace, order, and economic integrity in the region.
