Davao City — The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) scored a major breakthrough in its intensified anti-drug campaign with the arrest of a top regional-level high-value target and the confiscation of over ₱2.6 million worth of suspected marijuana leaves during a joint operation on Saturday, September 6.

The operation, conducted at Ubas Compound, SIR Compound, Riverside, Barangay 76-A, was led by the DCPO City Drug Enforcement Unit and the City Special Operations Group (CSOG) under PLTCOL Randy Sambalod. It was carried out in close coordination with the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 (RPDEU XI), City Intelligence Unit (CIU), Regional Intelligence Division XI, Police Station 15 – Ecoland, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI (PDEA XI), and the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group XI (PDEG XI).

Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Jovan,” listed as the Top 3 Regional-Level High-Value Target. Confiscated from his possession were marijuana leaves estimated to be worth ₱2,670,000.00.

DCPO Acting City Director, PCOL Mannan C. Muarip, lauded the successful operation, describing it as proof of intelligence-based policing and strong inter-agency cooperation.

“Davao City will never be a safe ground for drug lords, pushers, or users. To those who persist in poisoning our communities: your time is running out. No influence, no wealth, and no power can shield you from justice,” Muarip declared in a stern message following the arrest.

He also commended the police units involved, emphasizing that every successful operation is a victory not just for law enforcement but for the families and communities of Davao.

The DCPO reiterated that the proliferation of illegal drugs remains a serious threat that fuels violence, destroys families, and robs the youth of their future. The police office assured that with strengthened law enforcement, community vigilance, and united partnerships, the campaign will continue relentlessly until Davao City is fully cleared of illegal drugs.
