El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that as of 3:00 AM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm Nando (international name: Ragasa) was located 800 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora. The storm packs maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center with gustiness reaching up to 125 kph, moving northwestward at 10 kph.
While the weather disturbance is currently outside the Philippine landmass and has no direct impact on Mindanao, its circulation is enhancing localized weather systems that may bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms across the island. PAGASA warned residents to remain alert for possible flash floods or landslides, particularly during severe thunderstorms.
