BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office 13 (PRO13) has reported significant progress in its anti-insurgency campaign, with 202 Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) personalities either surrendering or being arrested from January 1 to September 16, 2025.

Data from the Regional Operations Division showed that 143 CTG members voluntarily surrendered, while 59 others were arrested. Among those apprehended, 40 were listed in the Periodic Status Report (PSR), while one was classified as a non-PSR member.

Authorities also recovered 45 firearms and 39 explosives during the period. Of these, 44 firearms and 30 explosives were turned over by surrenderers, while one firearm and nine explosives were seized from arrested suspects.

PRO13 credited the accomplishments to the coordinated efforts of the Provincial Police Offices, the Butuan City Police Office, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, and the Regional Intelligence Division.

PBGen Marcial Mariano P. Magistrado IV, PRO13 director, reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the operations. “We will sustain our intensified police operations against the CTG with a standing warrant of arrest. At the same time, we appeal to their remaining leaders and members to return to the fold of the law,” he said.
