DAVAO CITY – Authorities seized more than ₱3.6 million worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of a 21-year-old suspect in Purok 10-B, Lower Madapo, Barangay 8-A, late Friday afternoon, September 26.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XI, through its Regional Special Enforcement Team in coordination with San Pedro Police Station 2, launched the sting at around 4:40 p.m. targeting a suspect identified only as “Bryan,” a resident of the area.
An undercover agent was able to purchase from the suspect a sachet of suspected shabu weighing around 10 grams valued at ₱40,000. Subsequent search yielded an additional 500 grams of shabu worth an estimated ₱3.4 million, along with 96 tablets of suspected ecstasy valued at ₱163,200.
The total haul amounted to approximately ₱3.6 million.
The suspect is now under the custody of PDEA XI and is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities reiterated their warning that intensified anti-drug operations will continue in Davao City as part of efforts to curb the circulation of illegal drugs in the region.
