Tipo-Tipo, Basilan — A shooting incident in Sitio Baunu Dagao, Barangay Badja, on Wednesday afternoon left one man dead and another critically wounded.
Police identified the victims as Michael Codilla, who died at the scene, and his nephew, Bonifacio Codilla, who remains hospitalized with serious injuries. Both were vendors from Barangay Sta. Clara, Lamitan City.
According to initial reports, the two were ambushed while selling snacks from their tricycles when unidentified gunmen opened fire.
Captain Sam Adam, chief of the Tipo-Tipo Municipal Police Station, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that authorities are considering all possibilities, including mistaken identity.
Police are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the perpetrators. Residents are urged to contact the Tipo-Tipo Municipal Police Station with relevant leads.
