CLARIN, Misamis Occidental – A 34-year-old local band member was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lapasan on Thursday afternoon, September 25, 2025.
The suspect, identified only as alias Edison, a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Lapasan, was apprehended at around 4:25 p.m. by joint forces of the Clarin Municipal Police Station led by PMaj. Alawi B. Musaharoun, together with operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office (MOCPPO), 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit.
Authorities seized from the suspect one rectangular heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, which served as the buy-bust item. Five more sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from his possession, along with one genuine ₱500 bill and a used plastic sachet.
Police said the confiscated illegal drugs weighed approximately 0.8 grams with an estimated street value of ₱5,440.
The suspect is now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
