Lamitan City, Basilan – A local government employee was gunned down on Tuesday night, September 3, in Sitio Tinambakan, Barangay Maganda, Lamitan City.
The victim was identified as Hadji Sahali S. Alki, a resident of the area and an employee of the Lamitan City Hall. Initial reports said Alki sustained at least three gunshot wounds in different parts of his body. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
The Lamitan City Police said they are conducting an investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting and to identify the suspects. Authorities have yet to disclose further details pending the progress of the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns among residents of Barangay Maganda, as it adds to the growing anxieties over public safety in the city.
