General Santos City — A joint law enforcement operation led to the arrest of a high-value drug suspect and the seizure of over ₱1 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Purok Sta. Cruz, Barangay Dadiangas West, on September 22, 2025.

The City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), Police Station 1, and the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 12, carried out the operation which resulted in the arrest of the suspect, identified only as Alias Raily. Authorities classified him as a high-value individual (HVI) in the campaign against illegal drugs.

Confiscated from the suspect were 10 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of ₱1,033,328, along with ₱2,000 in buy-bust money, a belt bag, a mobile phone, assorted identification cards, ₱1,300 in cash, and other non-drug items.

The arrested suspect is now under the custody of Police Station 1 and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensify anti-illegal drug operations in the city to curb the proliferation of narcotics and hold accountable those involved in the trade.
