Polomolok, South Cotabato – September 8, 2025 — Police authorities in South Cotabato scored another breakthrough in the fight against illegal drugs with the arrest of a suspected drug personality during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Poblacion, Polomolok, on the evening of September 6.

The operation, conducted at around 8:00 p.m., was a joint effort of the Polomolok Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies of SCPPO, and the 1205th Maneuver Company of RMFB 12, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 12.

Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Saloy,” 36, a farmer and resident of Talayan, Maguindanao del Sur.

Recovered from the suspect were four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing an estimated 60.1 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱408,680, along with the marked ₱1,000 bill used during the operation.

The suspect was immediately brought to the Polomolok Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition. The confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the South Cotabato Provincial Forensic Unit in Koronadal City for laboratory examination.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 12 Regional Director PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente lauded the successful operation and highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration in dismantling the illegal drug trade in the region.

“This successful operation is proof of our resolve to rid our communities of the menace of illegal drugs. I commend the excellent coordination of our units with PDEA and assure the public that PRO 12 will not relent in our pursuit of a drug-free region,” Ardiente said.

Authorities are set to file appropriate charges against the suspect for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
