Cotabato City — A joint anti-drug operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–BARMM Tawi-Tawi Provincial Office and the Mapun Municipal Police Station led to the dismantling of a suspected drug den in Barangay Boki, Mapun, Tawi-Tawi, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Authorities confiscated 26 heat-sealed sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu,” weighing approximately eight grams. Also seized were buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia, identification cards, and two mobile phones.

PDEA–BARMM Director Gil Cesario P. Castro identified those arrested as Alias Delat, 52, alleged maintainer of the drug den; Alias Boy, 22; and Alias Jing, 52. All are residents of Mapun.

In the course of the operation, authorities also rescued a minor who was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for proper care and intervention.

The suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
