July 22, 2025 — Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected to continue affecting large parts of Mindanao over the next 24 hours, as two low-pressure areas (LPAs) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) influence regional weather patterns, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported in its 5:00 AM forecast today.

At 3:00 PM, one LPA was located 1,220 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon (15.0°N, 133.0°E), while another was spotted 405 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan (19.2°N, 125.3°E). These weather systems, in conjunction with the Southwest Monsoon, are bringing cloudy skies, scattered rains, and possible thunderstorms particularly across Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and the Davao Region.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides in flood-prone and mountainous areas due to moderate to at times heavy rainfall.
