DATU PIANG, Maguindanao del Sur — Three suspected drug personalities from Koronadal City were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Datu Piang Municipal Police Station on the afternoon of July 8, 2025.
The operation, led by PCPT Anthony A. Basañez and carried out in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit and other units, took place around 3:40 p.m. in Barangay Buayan. Authorities identified the suspects through their aliases: Jeyvee, Warren, and Abdul, all of whom are residents of Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
Police operatives seized approximately 101.1 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of Php 687,480, from the suspects. Also confiscated during the sting operation were an improvised tooter, disposable lighters, and a Php1,000 bill used as marked money.
The suspects are currently detained at the Datu Piang Municipal Police Station, while the seized illegal drugs have been sent to the Regional Forensic Unit of Police Regional Office – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) for laboratory testing. Criminal charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the trio.
In a statement, PCOL Sultan Salman H. Sapal, Provincial Director of Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, lauded the swift and decisive action of the operating team.
“This operation sends a clear warning to drug traffickers—we are determined to stop the spread of illegal drugs in the province,” he emphasized.
The operation is part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign to eliminate the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Bangsamoro region.
