PAGASA warns of potential flash floods and landslides amid heavy downpours

Mindanao – July 12, 2025 — The entire Mindanao region is expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day as the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the island, according to the latest regional weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 5:00 AM bulletin, PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to occasionally heavy rains. Winds will remain light to moderate from the southwest to south, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate at 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

All provinces are forecasted to experience cloudy weather with rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day and night. Residents, especially those living in low-lying and mountainous areas, are advised to remain alert for potential flooding and landslides.

Sea conditions are expected to be generally safe for small sea vessels but caution is still urged due to possible thunderstorms over coastal waters.
