DATU ANGGAL MIDTIMBANG, MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR | June 17, 2025 — The lifeless bodies of two unidentified men were discovered early Tuesday morning in Sitio Atao, Barangay Tulunan, in the municipality of Datu Anggal Midtimbang, raising fresh concerns over the growing spate of killings in Maguindanao provinces.

According to the local police, the victims were found wearing denim shorts, a jersey, and a t-shirt, both bearing visible gunshot wounds. Authorities suspect that the bodies were dumped in the area the night before by unidentified perpetrators.

Residents in the area reported the grisly find to the authorities, who now appeal to the public for assistance in identifying the victims. Anyone with missing relatives or information relevant to the case is urged to contact the nearest police station.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to investigate the identities of the victims and the motives behind the killings. The discovery adds to a growing list of violent incidents in the region, fueling concern among local residents and rights advocates over the increasing frequency of unsolved murders.

This latest case underscores the need for intensified law enforcement and stronger community vigilance, especially in remote and conflict-affected parts of Maguindanao del Sur and neighboring areas.
