General Santos City, June 6, 2025 — Police authorities in Region 12 arrested one of the region’s top 10 most wanted drug suspects during an operation on June 5 in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Chibo,” a 26-year-old resident of the city, was apprehended by operatives from Police Station 7 of the General Santos City Police Office. His arrest was carried out based on a warrant for violating Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12) confirmed that “Chibo” was among the most wanted individuals in the region for drug-related offenses. Following his arrest, he was placed under the custody of Police Station 7 while awaiting a court-issued commitment order for his transfer to the General Santos City Jail in Barangay Apopong.
“This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of PRO 12 to its ongoing efforts in the fight against illegal drugs and in ensuring that wanted individuals are held accountable under the law,” said Police Brigadier General Arnold P. Ardiente, Regional Director of PRO 12.
Authorities assured the public that similar operations will continue to be conducted as part of the region’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and criminality.
