MINDANAO – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported that several provinces in Mindanao will continue to experience wet weather conditions today due to the prevailing Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), while the rest of the region will have generally fair weather with isolated thunderstorms.

Wet Weather Due to ITCZ

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental as the ITCZ remains the dominant weather system affecting the eastern section of Mindanao.

These areas are advised to watch out for possible flash floods or landslides, especially during heavy downpours.

Localized Thunderstorms Across the Rest of Mindanao

Other provinces will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized convection. Winds across the region will be light to moderate from the southwest to south, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate (0.6 to 1.2 meters).
