Mati City, Davao Oriental – June 4, 2025 — A high-value drug suspect was arrested during a joint buy-bust operation on June 3 at MLGR, Barangay Central, Mati City, resulting in the confiscation of suspected shabu worth over PHP 3,4 million.
The suspect, known only by the alias “Jay,” was identified by authorities as a High-Value Individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade. He was apprehended during the sting operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Davao Oriental Provincial Office XI, in coordination with other law enforcement units.
Authorities seized six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, along with three PHP 1,000 bills used in the operation. Other non-drug items were also recovered from the scene.
The confiscated illegal drugs have a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 3,402,040.00.
The suspect is currently under the custody of PDEA-Davao Oriental for proper legal proceedings.
Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying its campaign against illegal drugs, particularly in tracking and arresting high-value targets. The operation is part of the broader anti-drug strategy under the leadership of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Nicolas D. Torre III.
