Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte — A vehicle was riddled with bullets after being ambushed by an unidentified armed man riding a motorcycle along the national highway in Purok 7, Barangay Dableston around 11:50 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
According to the Sultan Naga Dimaporo Municipal Police Station, the gunman, wearing a brown bonnet and a black jacket, was aboard a brown Raider FI motorcycle when he opened fire on the car traveling from Brgy. Dableston to Kapatagan. The driver, whose identity is being withheld for security reasons, miraculously escaped unharmed by quickly ducking as bullets tore through the vehicle.
The car sustained significant damage, including a shattered driver-side window and five bullet holes—two hitting the dashboard and three exiting through the front passenger door. Investigators recovered six spent 9mm shell casings from the scene.
A civilian witness reported seeing the suspect flee toward Poblacion and later head back in the direction of Kapatagan. The assailant and possible accomplices remain at large.
In response to the ambush, local police coordinated with the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) to alert checkpoints in nearby barangays: Tagulo and Mamagum in Sultan Naga Dimaporo, and Butadon and Bansarvil 1 in Kapatagan.
