Patikul, Sulu — A longstanding feud between two families in Patikul, Sulu has finally come to an end, thanks to the concerted efforts of the 35th Infantry (Makamandag) Battalion, the Patikul Local Government Unit, and the Philippine National Police.
The amicable settlement was formally held at the 35th IB headquarters in Barangay Tugas, Patikul, with both parties agreeing to reconciliation, effectively resolving their conflict and restoring harmony in their community.
Lieutenant Colonel Christopher C. Genzola GSC (INF) PA, Commanding Officer of the 35th Infantry Battalion, led the facilitation of the peace dialogue, which was carried out in close coordination with the local government headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Kabir E. Hayudini, and with support from the PNP.
Brigadier General Emmanuel L. Cabasan PA, Commander of the 1103rd Infantry (Kalis) Brigade, also witnessed the significant milestone, underscoring the military’s role not only in security operations but also in peacebuilding.
“This successful settlement is a testament to our collective commitment to promote peace, unity, and development in Sulu,” Lt. Col. Genzola said.
The resolution of the rido (clan feud) contributes to the broader efforts of local authorities and the Armed Forces to foster lasting peace and community healing in conflict-prone areas of the province.
