Polomolok, South Cotabato — Two suspected drug personalities were arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation launched by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 12 and the Polomolok Municipal Police Station along the National Highway in Purok 2, Barangay Glamang, Polomolok, South Cotabato on Friday evening, April 11.

The buy-bust, which took place at around 6:43 p.m., resulted in the capture of a 23-year-old suspect known by the alias “Abdul,” a resident of Barangay Adon, Datu Anggal Midtimbang, in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). He has been identified by authorities as a High-Value Individual (HVI). Also apprehended was alias “Regine,” a 19-year-old resident of Barangay Aflik, Tboli, South Cotabato, tagged as a Street-Level Individual.

Law enforcers confiscated twelve heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 226.5 grams, with an estimated market value of Php 1,540,200.00. Authorities also recovered one genuine one-thousand peso bill, seven pieces of counterfeit buy-bust money, a caliber .45 pistol loaded with four live rounds, and a black Suzuki Wagon used by the suspects.

The arrested individuals and the seized items were brought to the Polomolok Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and further legal proceedings.

Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) Regional Director PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente praised the operating units for the successful operation and reaffirmed the police force’s firm stance against the illegal drug trade.

“We will continue to strike hard against those who choose to destroy lives and communities through drug trafficking. Let this serve as a strong warning that we are intensifying our efforts to rid our streets of this menace,” Ardiente said.

Authorities emphasized that the operation is part of PRO-12’s ongoing campaign to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs across the region.
