Cagayan de Oro City – The Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) is set to deploy 1,266 police personnel across Northern Mindanao to ensure public safety during the Summer Vacation (SUMVAC) 2025 security initiative. The deployment will run from April 1 to May 31, 2025, covering key areas of convergence in the region.
PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO10, highlighted the importance of strengthening security measures during the summer season, given the expected increase in travelers and vacationers.
“PRO10 is fully prepared for SUMVAC 2025. Our personnel will be stationed in strategic locations to maintain peace and security, particularly in high-traffic areas such as churches, terminals, major roads, commercial centers, and tourist spots,” De Guzman stated.
The security deployment will be distributed across the region, with 357 officers assigned to places of worship, 215 to major thoroughfares, 176 to transportation hubs, 192 to commercial districts, and 326 to other locations where large crowds are anticipated. This initiative aims to prevent criminal activities, facilitate smooth traffic flow, and provide immediate police assistance in emergencies.
De Guzman also called on the public to cooperate with law enforcement, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
“Security is a shared responsibility. We urge everyone to stay cautious and work with us in keeping Northern Mindanao safe. If you need police assistance, do not hesitate to approach our personnel or contact the nearest police station,” he added.
In addition to personnel deployment, PRO10 will implement overlapping checkpoints, increase foot and mobile patrols, and maintain close coordination with local government units and other security agencies. These measures are designed to enhance public safety throughout the summer vacation period.
