KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — In a bid to bolster the capability and operational readiness of police forces across Region 12, the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12), under the leadership of Regional Director PBGEN Arnold P. Ardiente, spearheaded the ceremonial turnover of vital logistical equipment on April 14, 2025.

A total of 100 units of 5.56mm Basic Assault Rifles “Dasan,” four sets of portable generators, and 48 vehicle tires were formally handed over to the provincial and city police offices within SOCCSKSARGEN. The new assets are expected to sharpen the efficiency and responsiveness of law enforcement units, especially during critical operations and emergencies.
PBGEN Ardiente underscored the significance of the initiative, saying, “This turnover marks a pivotal moment in strengthening our operational readiness and ensuring our personnel have the necessary resources to effectively perform their duties. With these upgrades, we are not just arming our units with tools, but also reaffirming our commitment to the safety and security of the communities we serve.”
The acquisition and distribution of modern equipment reflect the Philippine National Police’s commitment to enhancing police visibility, mobility, and response time, especially in remote and high-risk areas. Beyond providing firearms, the inclusion of generators and vehicle tires underscores the need for comprehensive logistical support to maintain 24/7 operational capability — particularly in situations where power outages, rough terrain, and mechanical wear can hamper law enforcement efforts.
Investing in the right equipment is more than just a tactical upgrade; it is a crucial step toward ensuring that law enforcers can uphold their sworn duty to protect lives and maintain peace. Proper tools empower police officers to respond swiftly to threats, conduct rescue and relief operations efficiently, and engage communities with confidence and professionalism.
The activity is part of PRO 12’s broader commitment to “Service Beyond Our Badge: Alternative Policing Approach,” a campaign that emphasizes proactive policing and community partnership, backed by the right tools and resources.
As Region 12 continues to grow, so too does the need for a well-equipped and agile police force, ready to face both traditional and emerging security challenges. The latest turnover is a testament to this ongoing mission.
