Cotabato City, Philippines — Authorities seized more than Php 2 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested four individuals — including a minor — during a successful anti-drug operation on Tuesday.
The joint operation was carried out by personnel from the Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station, Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, and Cotabato City Police Station.
The operation, originally planned to take place in Barangay Salimbao, Sultan Kudarat, was redirected to Rosary Heights 5 in Cotabato City, where law enforcers executed a buy-bust operation against the suspects.
Police recovered a total of 300.94 grams of suspected shabu, packed in seven sachets — six large sachets containing around 300 grams and one smaller sachet weighing 0.94 gram. Authorities also confiscated counterfeit bills, a mobile phone, shipping receipts, packaging materials, and a white minivan believed to have been used in the illegal drug transaction.
The arrested suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and are now under the custody of the Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station for further investigation and formal charges. Meanwhile, the minor has been turned over to the Ministry of Social Services and Development for proper handling in accordance with legal procedures.
Authorities stressed their commitment to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs in the region, warning that similar operations will continue.
