Dipolog City – A total of 1,000 women from various cities and municipalities in Zamboanga del Norte gathered at the Zamboanga del Norte Convention and Sports Center on March 26 to celebrate the 2025 Provincial Women’s Month Culmination Program. The event was spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

Dapitan City Councilor Bing Balisado, representing Guest of Honor Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” Jalosjos, conveyed his message emphasizing that women are the backbone of progress. He acknowledged their endurance, determination, and ability to rise above challenges despite a lack of recognition and support. Mayor Jalosjos further highlighted that the strength of Zamboanga del Norte’s women lies not only in their resilience but also in their capacity to drive change.

Following the message, Councilor Balisado led a dance offering dedicated to God, lifting the spirits of attendees and setting a joyful tone for the celebration.

Ms. Lenie Castañeda, Supervising Administrative Officer representing Acting Provincial Administrator Levy H. Lagutin Jr., reaffirmed the province’s commitment to women’s welfare. She underscored that Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos holds the women’s sector in high regard, ensuring that all programs benefiting them receive strong support from the PSWDO. Castañeda also reminded the attendees that they possess the strength to overcome life’s challenges and should not feel defeated in difficult times.

Adding further inspiration, 2nd District Board Member Atty. Jasmin Pinsoy-Lagutin, Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children, and Family in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, reassured the women that unanswered prayers are part of God’s plan to provide the best outcomes. She emphasized the pivotal role of women as the “Light of the Home,” guiding their families with love, wisdom, and resilience.

During the program, newly elected officials of the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) took their oath of office, administered by former 2nd District Board Member Atty. Ricky Mejorada.

The afternoon session saw the arrival of Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos, who graced the event and witnessed the selection of the Ginang ZaNorte Runway Model and a modern dance competition.

This year’s Women’s Month celebration carried the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” honoring women from all sectors and highlighting their strength, resilience, and diversity.
