Zamboanga City – The City Government, through the Local Economic Development Investments and Promotion Services (LEDIPS), in collaboration with Lazada Philippines, hosted the Seller CommuniTours: Empowering Local Sellers to Reach Millions of Customers Nationwide on Thursday, March 13. The initiative aimed to facilitate the transition of local businesses into the digital marketplace, allowing them to tap into a nationwide consumer base.
Held at Astoria Hotel, the whole-day event gathered business owners and representatives from various micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Participants received valuable insights into e-commerce strategies, learned best practices for online selling, and explored opportunities to expand their market reach through Lazada’s platform.
As part of its expansion in Mindanao, Lazada introduced exclusive incentives for new sellers, including a zero-percent platform commission fee for 90 days, P1,000 in Lazada-sponsored solutions credit, and access to training through Lazada University. The company also highlighted various tools to enhance product visibility, increase conversions, and improve customer engagement, such as the Coins Discount Program, Sponsored Discovery Incentives, and Mindanao Exclusive Vouchers.
During the event, Lazada representatives outlined key strategies for sellers, emphasizing Access, Branding, and Convenience (ABC) to help businesses transition online successfully.
Investment Promotions Officer Raisa Mae Fernandez reaffirmed the city government’s commitment to supporting local businesses in the digital economy. She highlighted ongoing initiatives, programs, and training opportunities available through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-9) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The Seller CommuniTours marked a significant milestone in strengthening the city’s MSME sector, ensuring that local sellers can leverage the benefits of e-commerce to expand their market reach and drive business growth.
Earlier, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, representatives from Lazada Philippines met with Mayor John Dalipe to discuss potential partnerships aimed at helping MSMEs harness digital tools and access wider markets.
