LANAO DEL SUR – The Provincial Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (PCAT-VAWC) and the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) convened for their first quarter joint meeting on March 24, 2025, at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall. The gathering aimed to strengthen the province’s dedication to safeguarding the rights and welfare of women and children.
Presided over by Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid “Mujam” Raki-in Adiong, the meeting brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from various government agencies, law enforcement, civil society organizations, and local government units. Discussions focused on enhancing collaborative efforts to prevent violence and exploitation while ensuring the provision of necessary support services for survivors.
OIC-Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Monaima Adiong underscored the importance of a multi-sectoral approach in addressing these critical issues. She emphasized that beyond raising awareness, the province must ensure access to justice, protection, and support services for those affected by violence and trafficking.
The Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur continues to urge all sectors to remain vigilant and proactive in preventing violence against women and children. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening policies, improving support mechanisms, and enhancing coordination among stakeholders to create a safer environment for vulnerable sectors of society.
