Marawi City, Lanao del Sur – A high-value target involved in illegal drugs was arrested in a joint law enforcement operation conducted in Barangay East Basak, Marawi City, on March 10, 2025, at approximately 11:00 AM.
Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan, Provincial Director of Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO), lauded the successful efforts of the Marawi City Police Station (CPS), City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) LDSPPO, and Task Force Marawi City in the coordinated buy-bust operation that led to the arrest.
Authorities confiscated nine (9) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing approximately 45 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 306,000. Also recovered were marked buy-bust money, a silver metallic Toyota Avanza with plate number NDU 1017, an original copy of the vehicle’s Certificate of Registration/Official Receipt (CR/OR), and a black digital pocket scale.
The physical inventory of the seized items was conducted in the presence of the arrested suspect, along with representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and an elected barangay official, ensuring transparency in the operation.
The suspect and the confiscated items were brought to Marawi CPS for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations to curb the proliferation of illegal substances in the province.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspect’s involvement in drug-related activities and to track possible accomplices.
