Sarangani Province—Officials and employees of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Sarangani were equipped with the necessary skills to document and process public land applications during a capacity-building training held on February 25, 2025. The initiative aims to strengthen land management efforts in the province and improve the efficiency of land titling processes.
A total of 42 participants from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Sarangani, Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENROs) Glan and Kiamba, along with deputized public land inspectors, land management officers, special investigators, and records officers, attended the training. These key personnel were capacitated on legal concepts in land titling, the requirements and procedures for land patent applications, and the salient features of Republic Act No. 11573, also known as the Public Land Act.
To further streamline transactions, deputized public land inspectors (DPLIs) and land management officers (LMOs) were reminded of their crucial role in ensuring that land application documents, or carpetas, are thoroughly reviewed and organized before submission to PENRO for approval. This process helps facilitate accurate and efficient application processing, reducing delays and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
PENRO Sarangani remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering efficient land application services to the public by continuously capacitating its personnel. The office adheres to the DENR’s Citizen Charter, Quality Management System (QMS), and the requirements of the Public Land Act to uphold transparency and accountability in land administration.
By investing in the regular training of its officials and employees, the DENR in Sarangani ensures that public land management is handled with integrity, efficiency, and adherence to legal mandates, ultimately benefiting the communities relying on secure land tenure.
