ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Zamboanga City Integrated Bus Terminal (ZC-IBT) has further strengthened its security measures with the installation of a brand-new baggage X-ray machine and walk-through metal detector at the departure entrance of the main terminal building.

The latest security equipment was installed yesterday, completing a two-unit setup that now provides enhanced screening at both the arrival and departure areas of the terminal. The first baggage X-ray machine and walk-through detector were installed at the arrival area in September 2020, while the latest addition at the departure area ensures a more comprehensive security screening process for all passengers.

With the terminal now equipped with two baggage X-ray machines and two walk-through detectors, authorities aim to enhance the safety and security of commuters and personnel by detecting prohibited items more efficiently. This move aligns with ongoing efforts to improve passenger experience and maintain public safety in the city’s main transport hub.

Officials encourage passengers to cooperate with security protocols and allow ample time for the screening process to ensure smooth and safe travel. The enhanced security system is expected to contribute to a more secure and efficient transportation facility for all travelers using the ZC-IBT.
