Davao City – A joint law enforcement operation led to the successful arrest of the region’s top Most Wanted Person (MVP) in Purok Upper Bintuin, Barangay Fatima, Paquibato District, Davao City, on February 23, 2025.

Authorities apprehended Larry Sulla Cabunilas, also known as “Larry,” a former member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG). Cabunilas was wanted for multiple crimes, including arson, grave threats, and homicide. The operation was conducted by personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), who simultaneously implemented a search warrant and four warrants of arrest.

During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered various weapons and items, including a 33-inch defaced homemade shotgun, a camouflage chest bag, a .38 caliber firearm, two MK2 grenades, and a .45 caliber Federal 1911 A1 loaded with hollow point ammunition and a magazine containing six live rounds.

Cabunilas is currently under the custody of the Paquibato Police Station (PS7) and the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) for further legal proceedings.

Authorities emphasized that this accomplishment reflects the commitment of the PNP and AFP in maintaining peace and order in the region. The operation aligns with the strategic framework of PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, aiming to intensify the campaign against high-value criminals and wanted individuals.
