Iligan City—The local government continues its proactive efforts to protect residents from illegal real estate transactions through the Local Task Force on Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01, Series of 2021. This initiative, in collaboration with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development-Region 10 (DHSUD-10), aims to curb unregistered developments, fraudulent real estate dealings, and other legal violations to safeguard Iliganons seeking proper housing.

Authorities have issued notices and penalties to violators while reinforcing regulations on real estate advertisements. A proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Iligan City Government and DHSUD-10 is currently under review. Once finalized, the agreement will solidify the city’s commitment to strengthening law enforcement, raising public awareness, and holding violators accountable.

The newly appointed head of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) will oversee the implementation of the agreement, ensuring that it aligns with the city’s urban development goals. This move highlights the administration’s dedication to establishing a well-regulated and sustainable housing sector for the people of Iligan.

Special thanks were extended to Assistant Regional Director Niog and the DHSUD team for their support in advancing Iligan City’s housing and urban development initiatives. The local government remains steadfast in its mission to build a safer and more secure Iligan where every resident has access to legitimate and sustainable housing opportunities.
