Tagum City, Davao del Norte – In a significant stride toward enhancing public safety, the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11), under the leadership of PBGen Leon Victor Z. Rosete, has successfully apprehended a professional hitman linked to multiple shooting incidents spanning several years.
The arrest, conducted by personnel from the Tagum City Police Station, follows an extensive investigation into a shooting incident that occurred in Freedom Park, Tagum City, on January 11, 2024. Authorities identified the suspect as Sherwin Barrot, who is listed as the Top 6 Most Wanted Person (MWP) at the regional level in the Caraga Region. Barrot was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for murder.
Crucial Evidence Recovered
During the operation, law enforcement recovered a .45 caliber Colt MKIV pistol, along with two magazines and 15 live rounds of ammunition. Forensic examination of the firearm by the Davao del Norte Provincial Forensic Unit using the Integrated Ballistics Identification System (IBES) revealed its connection to 10 separate shooting incidents across Regions 11 and 13 from 2020 to 2024.

- December 27, 2020, in Butuan City
- January 24, 2021, in Agusan del Sur
- January 27, 2021, in Maragusan, Davao de Oro
- March 8, 2021, in Bislig City
- March 9, 2022, in Arellano, Tagum City
- March 31, 2022, in Surigao City
- August 20, 2022, at Pimentel Sports Complex, Tandag City
- December 6, 2022, in Mankilam, Tagum City
- January 11, 2024, in Freedom Park, Tagum City, which tragically claimed the life of a female overseas Filipino worker (OFW).
Legal and Forensic Efforts Continue
Barrot is currently under the custody of the Tandag Police Station for proper disposition, while the Tagum City Police Station prepares to file additional murder charges against him. This arrest marks a significant milestone in the ongoing pursuit of justice for the victims and their families.
