In a remarkable demonstration of unity and collaboration, the 41st Infantry “Partner for Peace” Battalion, led by LTC Genesis R. Gabrido, and the Bravo ‘Alisto’ Company, under the leadership of OIC 2LT Joebriggs P. Prado, participated as witnesses in an extrajudicial settlement (PAGSULUT) between two families in Barangay Alu Pangkoh, Parang, Sulu. The settlement was held at the Municipal Hall of Parang and facilitated by Hon. Alkadar T. Loong, Municipal Mayor, alongside Hon. Madzhar T. Loong, Vice Mayor of Parang, Sulu.


The families of Mirhama Isa Ahamad and Basir Unggal, who were previously involved in a conflict, reached an amicable agreement, marking a significant milestone in fostering peace within the community. Representatives from various stakeholders, including the Philippine National Police (PNP) led by PEMS Danilson Mallang, MESPO, Parang MPS, and COL. Ibni Saddama (Ret) from the Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELAC), were also present to support the resolution process.
The successful settlement reflects the unwavering commitment of the Local Government Unit (LGU) and its stakeholders to address disputes and prevent escalation of conflicts. By prioritizing dialogue and understanding, the LGU showcased its essential role in promoting sustainable peace and harmony in the municipality.
This event highlights the community’s collective dedication to resolving conflicts peacefully and fostering a progressive and culturally vibrant Sulu. The collaboration between the LGU, military, police, and local leaders underscores the strength of unity in achieving lasting peace.
