The 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division (6ID) is intensifying efforts to maintain peace and order as the 2025 elections draw near.
During the Philippine Information Agency Region XII’s “PIA Talakayang Dose” program, Lt. Col. Roden Orbon, spokesperson of the 6ID and commanding officer of the 6th Civil Military Operations Battalion, revealed that the military recently convened members of the Regional Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Centers (RJPSCC) to address election-related concerns.
According to Lt. Col. Orbon, the RJPSCC includes representatives from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
The 6ID has also begun conducting risk assessments to identify potential “high-risk areas” ahead of the polls. “We are now promoting the launch of peace covenants and candidates’ forums where we invite candidates to commit to peaceful and secure elections,” Orbon shared.
In line with these initiatives, the 6ID is also set to host a peace summit with local candidates later this month, underscoring its dedication to fostering a safe and orderly election season.
