The Municipality of Talayan in Maguindanao del Sur witnessed an important step in its development journey as a public hearing on its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) took center stage. Organized by the local government unit (LGU) of Talayan, the event showcased the municipality’s commitment to transparency, community engagement, and sustainable development.

In partnership with the Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur and the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC), the public hearing provided a platform for presenting and discussing the proposed CLUP with community members and stakeholders. The initiative emphasized the LGU’s dedication to ensuring that local development plans are aligned with the aspirations and concerns of its residents.

EnP Nulfarid S. Amapatuan, CoE, MPA, a representative from the Provincial Government, underscored the administration’s focus on fostering collaborative governance. “The Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur is committed to promoting transparency and inclusivity. By working hand-in-hand with local communities, we aim to create development plans that are not only sustainable but also reflective of the needs and aspirations of the people,” he stated.

The hearing offered an opportunity to delve into the municipality’s proposed CLUP, ensuring its alignment with broader provincial development goals while addressing potential concerns from the community. Participants included key stakeholders, local leaders, and planning experts who contributed valuable insights into shaping Talayan’s future.

Several notable dignitaries graced the occasion, including Talayan Municipal Mayor Tungkang A. Midtimbang, SB Members Mohalidin G. Kasim and Samuel K. Midtimbang, Municipal Administrator Abdulmaulah M. Ulama, and MHSD representative Atty. Janice-Zah M. Macapantar. Their presence underscored the importance of the hearing in shaping Talayan’s growth trajectory.

Community leaders and residents also actively participated, raising questions and providing feedback on the proposed plan. The LGU expressed gratitude for the community’s engagement, emphasizing that public input is critical to ensuring the plan’s success and sustainability.

As the hearing concluded, it became evident that Talayan is paving the way for a future built on shared vision and cooperation. The CLUP’s development marks a significant milestone in ensuring a well-planned, inclusive, and sustainable environment for the municipality’s residents.
